It maybe that you are keen to help in addition to being a leader or that the regular section meetings don't fit with your schedule but you could give a few hours of spare time to helping with admin. You may never have been involved with Scouting before but just want to help out. Whichever way we need you! Membership Team: Leader and Volunteer Administrator 

Are you passionate about supporting a thriving community of volunteers dedicated to shaping the future of young scouts? 11th Winchester Scout Group is seeking a Leader and Volunteer Administrator to join our team. We have around 70 volunteer leaders and another 30 to 40 Parent helpers that volunteer across our 7 Scout sections. These are administered across 2 Scout IT systems and various Whatsapp Groups. They all need DBS checks, online training and welcome meetings and all this information needs to be kept upto date both for our own records, for the Scout's annual census and to keep the Group running smoothly.
 
Your role will be to keep the Adult databases upto date by liasing with key leaders in each of the sections to make sure you know who the new leaders are, when leaders move sections and when people leave. To know where leaders are with their training, DBS applications and onboarding and ensure that the databases are upto date and to communicate with leaders over their status. Also to liase with key leaders, the GSL and the trustees in overall long term planning to ensure all sections have enough leaders and that roles are filled within the Group management team.

Membership Team: Child Coordinator and Planner 

Are you passionate about ensuring a seamless and enriching journey for children as they progress through different age groups? We are seeking a Child Coordinator and Planner to join our team in an administrative capacity. In this vital role, you will be responsible for meticulously planning out each group's structure and the natural progression of children as they reach the appropriate age for transitioning to the next stage for example from Cubs to Scouts. You will work closely with the Leader and Volunteer administrator, and volunteer leaders. This is a behind-the-scenes role, focused on ensuring that the logistical aspects of group transitions are smooth and well-coordinated. If you have a keen eye for detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to enhancing the experience of young people, we invite you to apply. Membership Team: Census and DBS Administrator 

Are you detail-oriented and committed to the safety and accurate representation of our scouting community? Join us at 11th Winchester Scout Group as a Census and DBS Administrator. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our young scouts and adult volunteers by overseeing the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Your duties will include not only ensuring all volunteers are DBS checked but also managing the timely renewal of these checks every three years. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in preparing the Scout Annual census, an essential task that helps us create a detailed picture of our membership. 
 
Your work will contribute to maintaining a safe and transparent environment for our scouts and adult volunteers while enabling us to make informed decisions about our scouting programs. Trustees

You could also join our Board of Trustees and get involved with the longer term planning and strategy for the whole Group as well as making sure we are running a safe and rewarding programme for our Young People. Information on that here
 
Trustees don't have to be leaders, so if you know someone who has a bit of spare time and would like to help with this amazing community organisation then put them in touch. 
 
Commitment: Approx. 1 hour per week. Trustee Position. 
 

Leadership Team: Scout Leader. 

Would you like the chance to go camping, climbing, potholing, lead community projects while helping prepare young people with skills for life? As a section leader you will do all of this and more, using your skills and learning new ones. 
 
As part of 11th Winchester Scout Group, you will be plan and deliver a safe and exciting programme for young people, making sure every young person gets the chance to spend at least one night away each year. 
 
You’ll use your energy and creativity to help young people have fun, develop their potential and earn a wide range of badges and awards, including the prestigious Chief Scout Awards. Of course you won’t have to do this alone – a team of supporters, parents and the young people themselves will help you plan and deliver the programme. But it’s your enthusiasm and sense of fun and adventure that will inspire them. 
 
Commitment: 2-3 hrs per week, every other week, term time.
 

Leadership Team: Cubs or Beaver or Scout Co-ordinator. 

Are you enthusiastic about guiding and nurturing the growth of young scouts? Join the 11th Winchester Scout Group as a Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities and experiences of a group, ensuring that they have a safe, engaging, and educational scouting journey. Your responsibilities will include help planning and organizing meetings, coordinating outings, and liaising with leaders and parents to provide a well-rounded and memorable scouting experience through regular communication. 
 
As the Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our young scouts to learn and grow. If you are passionate about youth development, have excellent organizational skills, and enjoy working in a collaborative team setting, we invite you to apply and become an essential part of our 11th Winchester Scout Group. 
 
Full training and support provided.  Quarterly meeting with other leaders usually in person.

Assistant Group Scout Leader 

Jon Rial has stepped back from this role so I am looking for someone to help me out with the running of the Group as a whole in terms of supporting our leaders as well as doing investitures and keeping on top of the safety and safeguarding of the Group. Have a look at the GSL role description here. This would suit someone with a good bit of Scouting experience. 
 
Commitment: Approx. 2-3 hour per week.  
 

Leadership Team: Quartermaster. 

Are you someone who thrives on organization and enjoys ensuring that resources are readily available for scouts and leaders alike? Join us at 11th Winchester Scout Group as a Quartermaster. In this essential role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our inventory of scouting equipment and supplies. Your duties will include tracking equipment, conducting regular inspections, ordering replacements as needed, and ensuring that all items are in good working condition. 
 
As the Quartermaster, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of scouting activities and helping to create memorable experiences for our scouts.
