Since January We now have Two Scout Troops! Log in to see what we are up to.
Scouts at the 11th do lots of traditional fun scouting. We love being outdoors, generally we plan for at least half of our meetings to be away from the HQ. Things that are regularly on the agenda are hikes, fire lighting, cooking on fires, knife axe and saw work, navigation, pioneering (building things with big poles and ropes), first aid etc, etc. If you have a login id, take a look at our programme for all the things we are planning to do.
You may think from our website that all our camps are like pleasure parks, and all our winters are sunny. Not so, but it just happens to be the camp when I get a chance to get my camera out, and we have been very lucky these last 4 years.
Scouts from Winchester spent the weekend in London, sleeping on HMS Belfast and using public transport to visit and photograph every detail from the Monopoly Board
What a fantastic, but tiring, weekend. 32 scouts and 7 leaders travelled up to London by train, dumped kit on HMS Belfast and immediately set about making the most of our London travel passes to visit features on the monopoly board. We divided into 3 teams, each with certain monopoly board properties that they must visit in order to cover the board completely. Teams could gain bonus points by visiting extra properties from the other teams' lists.
For about the 3rd year in a row the scouts have managed to attend winter camp and not get wet. The Sunday was really sunny. Here's a a video of Richard and David competing against each other on the assault course.
